RUNWAY is a brand new restaurant located on the same property as CCBC Resort Hotel, a clothing optional gay mens resort. All employees must be clothed at all times. This job Includes: Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary suppliesPreparing food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff Job brief We are looking for a professional jr. CHEF/LEAD COOK/SHORT ORDER COOK to prepare food to the exact chef's specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals. Responsibilities* Set up and stocking stations with all necessary suppliesPrepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staffAnswer, report and follow chef's & gm's instructionsClean up station and take care of carryover foodStock inventory appropriatelyEnsure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashionComply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standardsMaintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers Requirements Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cookExcellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and proceduresAccuracy and speed in executing assigned tasksFamiliar with industry's best practicesFood Safety CertificationCulinary school diploma (Preferred) Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
