Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1 year of
Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do
not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
clinician is needed for a K-12 school position in La Mesa, New
Mexico. This contract role runs for the entire school year,
providing an opportunity to support a small, devoted district known
for its welcoming and collaborative environment. Location: La Mesa,
NM (Near Las Cruces, Southern New Mexico) Assignment Duration:
Contract, entire school year Work Hours: Full-time preferred (40
hours); part-time applicants who are on-site may also be
considered. Key Responsibilities: Deliver speech-language therapy
services to a caseload of approximately 60 students, including
those in 3 Structured Communication Classrooms (SCCs). Provide
direct therapy focusing on current caseload needs; compensatory
services are not required initially. Collaborate closely with a
supportive team of bilingual and monolingual SLP colleagues.
Support students with a range of needs, including augmentative and
alternative communication (AAC); willingness to learn AAC
techniques is welcomed. Maintain NM state licensure and obtain or
be in the process of obtaining the New Mexico Public Education
Department certification. Qualifications: Licensed Speech-Language
Pathologist in New Mexico (required prior to start or actively
pursuing licensure). Eligible or pending certification through the
NM Public Education Department (PED). Bilingual skills are a plus
but not mandatory, as there are existing bilingual SLPs on staff.
Experience with AAC devices is preferred but not required;
eagerness to learn is essential. Strong commitment to supporting
student communication development in a K-12 educational setting.
